Stan Editions: the Belgian brand that turned a candle into a building block

Stan Editions: the Belgian brand that turned a candle into a building block

Most candles do one thing: they burn. Stan Verstraete looked at that and thought it wasn't enough.

Founded in Ghent in 2021, Stan Editions started with a single question - what if a candle could be something you compose, not just something you light? The answer was CANDL STACKS: modular, geometric candles that stack, combine, and rearrange into endlessly different sculptures. Inspired by the colours of Rothko, Mondriaan, and Sottsass, each piece is both object and material - the stack you build is the design.

The candles are produced in Europe to high standards, and the more recent fragrance line uses naturally sourced scents - a logical step for a founder who studied Bio Engineering at Ghent University before turning to design.

What makes Stan Editions stand out isn't just the format. It's the invitation. Every stack is a starting point, not a finished product. Add one new shape or colour and the whole thing becomes something else entirely.

A Ghent brand, a modular idea, and a very good gift for anyone who likes to arrange things their own way.
